BAUS FNUU Urinary Incontinence & Reconstruction Cadaveric Course     


A two-day practical course where delegates will have hands on experience of a range of emergency urological surgical techniques using fresh frozen cadavers, in a simulated operating environment with experience faculty.

Female urinary incontinence surgery & reconstruction

  • Urethral bulking agents
  • Retropubic tape anatomy (& removal)
  • Autologous rectus fascial sling
  • Colposuspension
  • Harvest and placement of Martius Fat Pad Flap
  • Neuromodulation (SNS)
  • Ileocystoplasty
  • Formation of Mitrofanoff and Monti Channels
  • Formation of ileal conduit


Additional Educational Elements

Short lecture on the surgical steps for each skill including important anatomy

Tuition from experienced faculty, and use of surgical instruments and materials

Understanding and technical skills of emergency urology surgery

Anatomy relevant to emergency surgery


Target Audience

Target audience: priority ST5-7 and equivalent Portfolio pathway trainee and consultants.  Applications will also be considered from ST3-4

There are a limited number of funded places for East of England urology trainees.
