Simulation- Advanced Communication Skills in Critical Illness and Cardiac Arrest

This one-day course is aimed at those leading the cardiac arrest team and will be led by Dr Sarah Cowan, Consultant in Acute Medicine, and her team.

The course will focus primarily on:

- advanced communication skills 

- conversations with patients and families around resuscitation

- leading the cardiac arrest team

- decisions around futility of resuscitation

- debriefing after cardiac arrest

TIMING

The course will take place from 9:30 until 16:30, with registration promptly at 9am. 

AUDIENCE

A full-day course designed for the following specialities: Acute Medicine, Core Medical Training Programme,General Medicine, Intensive Care

Free to East of England IMT3 trainees


Priority will be given to IMT3 trainees at CUH, West Suffolk Hospital and Hinchinbrooke Hospital in the first instance and then we will open up to other East of England IMT3 trainees and HST AIM / GIM trainees
