Learning to Lead

The Learning to Lead Programme is suitable for Consultants, GPs and senior nursing and AHP staff (Band 8A and above) who seek to develop and refine their clinical leadership skills, and are aspiring to, or are working in a leadership role.

The programme consists of seven taught days, approximately one day per month including a final day celebration event.  Delegates are also required to develop, undertake and present a service improvement or innovation project.



Preparing for Consultant Role - 25th & 26th June 2026

This two day online course is open to senior trainees, who are ideally within one year of CCT.

The course will include:

  • Getting ready to apply for the consultant role
  • Preparing your application, including pre-interview visits
  • The interview, to include practice interviews
  • Understanding NHS structures and processes and writing a business case
  • Revalidation, GMC and professionalism
  • Responding to patient complaints
